Self-centeredness and pride are nasty little sin-infections that can be almost invisible in our lives.

Someone has said that humility is not thinking less of yourself, it’s thinking of yourself less. The opposite of humility is thinking more about yourself.

Last Sunday I asked this question: “What will the history books say about Christians in America in the next ten years?” I believe this is an important question to ask because it gets after the manner of life we lead or the lifestyles we live.

As I sat down to write this, my heart was heavy with anger, confusion, fear and shame. I didn’t really know where to begin but I knew that I must begin because the preaching of the Gospel must not stop.

Fear is a powerful emotion that can suck the joy and the beauty out of this life. There are many things that can cause us to live in fear.

Restrictions and limitations are a fact of life. I am limited because I am a human and therefore, I live with certain areas of weakness that restrict me from enjoying certain freedoms.

Circumstances have a very funny way of bringing out the worst within us.

Paul’s letter to the Philippian church has been described as his most personal letter to any of the churches he planted and pastored. The pages of this book are literally saturated with his deep love, affection and longing for the church family.

The book of Philippians was written by the apostle Paul. Paul planted the church in Philippi roughly ten to twelve years before he wrote this letter from a prison cell in Rome (Phil. 1:12 – 13).
