The promises of God are like anchors for our souls. When the storms of life toss the boats of our lives back and forth we can trust in the promises of God.
God promises to make himself the deepest desire of our hearts and then he promises to give himself to us. As his Spirit works within us he causes our hearts to want more and more of him.
Therefore we must ask for more of him, as we believe in his goodness and faithfulness. And as we ask and believe we receive the provision of his presence.
Spend some time praying in light of what God’s Word teaches us:
- Spend some time thanking God for his goodness and faithfulness as you remember the promises of the gospel.
- Ask the Lord for whatever he places on your heart to ask for.
- Ask the Lord to help you believe and trust that he will come through.
- Ask the Lord to help you receive what he gives you.
